Dr.Haran is presently Professor and Head, Aeronautical Engineering, Dean (Mechanical Sciences) and Head, PARK Research Centre, PARK College of Engineering and Technology and a Faculty Adviser to VESRAD. He holds the degrees of B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering) IIT, Madras, M.E (Mechanical Engineering) IISc, Bangalore, M.Sc (Aircraft Propulsion) Cranfield, UK and Ph.D. (Aeronautical Engineering) Bangalore University. Previously, while in the Indian Air Force, he was the Project-in-charge MIG 23 and MIG 27 aircraft engine overhaul 4BRD Kanpur before being deputed to the Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE-DRDO), where he was the Project Director, Kaveri Engine Afterburner and Exhaust System. He has over 45 years of R&D and Industrial experience in the fields of Aero-Propulsion, Turbomachinery, Combustion and Gas Dynamics and Wind Turbine Technology and has carried out a large number of R&D projects sponsored by AR&DB (DRDO), NSTL (DRDO), GTRE (GATET-DRDO) and C-WET (MNRE).
